Onsite Support & Career Counselling For Employment Separation

Outplacement Support provided by Access Career Solutions Inc. is designed to assist the employee with their employment separation and job placement assistance. Each outplacement support session is uniquely designed to be the most beneficial for our candidates – focusing on areas in which they need the most support. Candidates are provided with an Outplacement package which includes – current resume, personality profile and information to assist them in obtaining gainful employment.

Outplacement Support For Employment Separation

Overview of Separation Session: 2 – 3 hours

Is recommended that the outplacement counselor observe the termination interview to offer support to the employee. The counselor will assist the employee in removing personal contents from the workplace, and ensure the employee has safe transportation home.

An appointment will be booked for the next day for the employee to meet with the counselor at the counselor’s office to discuss outplacement support.

First Session – One day after termination 2 hours

This session will focus on discussing the individual’s initial reaction to the termination, financial planning, and employment insurance registration. Outplacement support services will be outlined and offered.

Second Session – Three to five days after termination 2 hours

This session will encompass a discussion on career planning, review of resume, including work history and education. Time will be spent on resume coaching and job search strategies.

Third Session 3 hours total
(1.5 hours with candidate; 1.5 hours preparing/editing resume and cover letters)

This session will be a follow up on the job search strategy and resume coaching. Feelings about the job search process and the recent termination will be revisited to establish the candidate’s readiness to pursue job interviews.

A working copy of a completed resume will be prepared/edited. Cover letters, follow up letters, and reference documents will be drafted and provided.

Fourth and Subsequent Sessions 1 -2 hours each

Subsequent sessions consist of mock interviews to prepare the candidate for upcoming interviews. Each meeting will revisit feelings and reactions to the separation process and the job search process.

Levels Of Service

All of our Outplacement Services are geared to one on one customized programs developed for the individual we are working with. Each candidate is at a unique position in their career path and they may have different areas that require support before moving on to the next step in their career.

Packages are based on the number of hours you choose for support.

Basic Package 10 hours $1,250.00 + gst
Intermediate Package 24 hours $3,000.00 + gst
Advanced Package 30 hours $3,750.00 + gst

  • Approximate 70% of the time allotted is dedicated to one on one services
  • 30% of the time allotted is in support services
