Fleet Manager

 

Location:        Bolton

Status:              Permanent Full-time

Requirements

  • Supervise all shop staff including mechanics and shop workers.
  • Set up daily work schedule for staff, including leaving directions for weekend mechanic.
  • Hire, review and assess skill levels of shop staff regularly. Cost control overtime
  • Discipline and/or terminate where necessary in accordance with all applicable government regulations.
  • Ensure shop staff adheres to safety practices.
  • Ensure shop staff adheres to Government regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain all company equipment in accordance with warranty requirements, government regulations and maintenance policy as declared to M.T.O.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of shop supplies/parts using PO #’s
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Communicate with dispatch to advise equipment needed for repairs and/or regular maintenance.
  • Ensure shop is keeping proper records/work orders for services performed.
  • Sign off on payable invoices, auditing for accuracy and forwarding for prompt payment.
  • Ensure shop is charging back work orders where necessary.
  • Communicate with Safety and Compliance to advise of problems and/or potential problems.
  • Participate in the implementation of a computer based shop work order and inventory system.
  • Ensure shop licenses are up to date and valid and maintain adequate supply of certification stickers etc.
  • Create, update or modify general  shop and maintenance policies
  • Spec and purchase trucks and trailers as requested
  • Responsible for staffing of snow plow for efficient yard plowing
  • Schedule maintenance of all equipment

Qualifications                                                                                                       

  • Completion of secondary school a must. Post-secondary education would be an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar field
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) with an emphasis on customer service being a priority
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Capable in MS Outlook, Excel and Word
